Natural materials and objects often spark the beginning of my design process. I may incorporate a texture, create a casting, or mold a piece of jewelry around a special stone or shell. The shapes of many of my designs evolve from oddly configured pieces of metal or stones. The feel of these natural textures or organic shapes in my hands, and my respect for the history that I know (or imagine) belongs to each object helps to guide my work.
I occasionally explore non-jewelry concepts, and creating unique vessels or objects that have special significance to me, my family, or friends is a wonderful creative outlet.
